Interesting route to take while on holiday at Lake Garda.
Behind Toscolano, lies the Valle delle Cartiere (Valley of the Paper Mills).
Since 1381, the presence of the Toscolano River has favoured the formation of an important paper-making centre, which is still visible today in the ruined remains of the old paper mills.
Only recently, after years of restoration of the buildings and paths, has the valley become a destination for hikers and bikers and a place of culture with the opening in 2007 of the Paper Museum, where even your children can experience making a sheet of paper with their own hands.
