In Gardone Riviera, a 10-minute walk from our flats, is the poetic André Heller Botanical Garden.
It is not only famous for its flowers and plants from all continents and climatic zones with a total of 3000 different plant specimens.
It is also a place of art and meditation. Andrèe Heller's skill was to be able to combine and unite the various environments, not only physically through pedestrian paths but also conceptually: each space dialogues with the one next to it without ever a clear separation between areas.
Oriental monsters and deities and works by well-known artists, such as Keith Haringe Roy Liechtenstein, pop up among the plants.
The bonsai-sized representation of a real alpine valley against the backdrop of the Dolomites is extraordinary.
